Cleethorpes Culture Festival set for next month
Cleethorpes Culture Festival will take place on the 14th and 15th of May 2022 at St. Aidan’s Church on Grimsby Road in Cleethorpes from 10 am-4 pm.
Celebrating creative talent in North East Lincolnshire, the Festival will include an art exhibition, craft and art workshops, stand-up comedy, poetry, and live music from local bands and solo artists.
There will also be historical re-enactments, celebrating the Cleethorpes Charter Day.
Cleethorpes Culture Festival is organised by the Hammond House Group and sponsored by Big Local North Cleethorpes.
Organiser, Ted Stanley from Hammond House, said: “The weekend will be a celebration of the creative community in Cleethorpes and Grimsby.”
Visitors will also be able to find out more about local artists and there will be a ‘Grayson Perry’ style art project organised by Big Local North Cleethorpes.
“ALL VISITORS to the Festival – we’d love to see your lockdown art, writing, drawings, paintings, poetry and craft creations to be included in the Rona Arts and Craft Exhibition at the Cleethorpes Culture Festival on 14 and 15 May at St Aidan’s, Cleethorpes.”
“This can include paintings, drawings, photographs, poems, stories, songs, (you can even perform your poetry or song), crafts to include wood carving, jewellery, knitting, sculptures, and topiary.”
A selection of the best submissions will be chosen for an exhibition in the prestigious Hammond House Gallery.
“Hammond House is a group of community organisations working in partnership to support talented people, enterprising organisations, and worthwhile causes.
“We facilitate and encourage creative activities that build confidence, develop transferable skills, aid professional development, address loneliness and isolation, and support positive mental health.”
