Crown paints issue plea after successful ‘Kick out the can’ pallets stolen

The Kick Out The Can scheme is back at the Crown Paints store in Grimsby, the company has posted on social media elaborating on the scheme.

The store states it will recycle used/half-full paint cans and recycle them for free.

The cans collected will reportedly be recycled as part of their Can Back scheme, including the donation of paint to local projects across the UK, for use of paint leftover.

The scheme is an effort to reduce waste and improve the usability of materials that would otherwise go to waste.

However, unfortunately, they have seen pallets were stolen that were due to be used for the scheme.

On their social media page they wrote:

“Kick out the can is still going full swing with another 5 pallets wrapped up this week to be recycled.

“However we have some sad news… our beloved pallets were stolen today.
“It’s going to prove rather difficult to wrap up the rest of our cans now, and although we appreciate times might be tough for Pallet Man (who we can only assume is a distant cousin of Hi-vis man) there is just no need!.
“Thankfully we have a big delivery coming in tomorrow which once put away will leave us with some pallets for next week… But if you’re reading Pallet Man please don’t steal any more of our pallets, we were keeping them for a reason and as you can see from the CCTV we now know your face and license plate number.”
On social media earlier in the month, they posted an advert about the scheme:

“Our Kick Out The Can scheme is back!

“Bring any full, empty, or even half-full paint cans to store from May 2nd until May 16th and we’ll recycle them for free!

” All cans collected will be recycled as part of our Can Back scheme and any paint will be donated to local projects across the UK ensuring no paint goes to waste.

” So, what are you waiting for? give us a visit and kick out those cans that you’ve been meaning to!”
