Has your house been invaded by flying ants?

Flying ants have appeared on a weather forecast map looking like rain.

Huge swarms of flying ants were recorded on radar systems in the South of England between 8-11am

Clouds of the ants were shown moving from South to West on the interactive weather map.

The weather presenter for the BBC Simon King said it was an incredible phenomenon.

Research suggests that there is not necessarily such a thing as a flying ant day. They fly somewhere in the UK on 96% of days between the start of June and the start of September.

It is the biggest swarm of the insects the weatherman has seen in the UK. It is a lot more common in parts of the United States.

He remarked that for it to appear on the radar imagery is incredible. But he feels very sorry for the many people who have t0 put up with the flying ants
