Celebrate the Jubilee with a packed day of fun at Sidney Park!

An exciting week of events is planned to take place at Sidney Park, in partnership with Cleethorpes in Bloom and Sidney Park Partnership, for a full week of Jubilee celebrations and more.

On Monday there will be a day of multi-sports. Football tennis, crossbar challenge, skipping, hurdles, hockey, giant Jenga, and more.

Tuesday will see ‘Sports with CJ’ and a Cleethorpes 3rd Battalion Scouts group workshop taking place.

Wednesday will see an all-day gardening workshop, for a day of planting seeds and bulbs.

“Watch the first planters getting placed in our brand new Jubilee Garden. Help us to plant our first seeds in the new beds. Learn about worms and help us build our first bug hotel on the park.”

On Thursday, an Arts and Crafts day where you will be able to build your own portable bug hotels, Stone painting, and design your own planter to take home. Then in the afternoon, James from Trinity Sounds will put on a music and DJ workshop for all to join in.

The Friday will see an interaction morning, with games for the kids, refreshments and snacks for the adults, and an ideas pot.

“We will be encouraging people from the local community to engage with us with ideas of what they would like to see in the new Jubilee Garden. Then from 11 am the team from Far Ings National Nature Reserve reserve will be joining us putting on workshops about nature, birds, and bugs and sending the children on scavenger hunts.”

Finally, the Sunday for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee will have a live DJ, a live saxophone player with a singing dog, a Magician and entertainers, food stalls, games, a raffle and tombolas, a Ukrainian tabletop sale, a arts and crafts market, and Sidney Park Football Club will be offering sport-based games for the children to take part in.

The Grand opening of the Jubilee Garden will be at 12pm and straight after there will be a ‘Big Lunch’ in honour of the Queens Platinum Jubilee.

The event is through the Sidney Park Partnership and Cleethorpes in Bloom with help from National lottery community funding.
