Thorpe Park launches new development amid ongoing controversy
Haven has announced a brand new development on the site, at Thorpe Park, Cleethorpes, as a new announcement for 2022.
The caravan development at Thorpe Park will see 51 brand new pitches on the site, to be named Oakwood Drive.
The proposal would feature a ‘secluded’ woodland location with a spacious area around the individual homes.
It boasts of ‘two dedicated car parking spaces for each holiday home’ and ‘scenic countryside strolls’.
There has been controversy surrounding developments at the site, as one is currently underway and owners are unhappy at the raising of site fees.
The ongoing construction of an Adventure Village at Thorpe Park in Cleethorpes has resulted in controversy, with caravan owners expressing concerns about the impact of the plans on rising pitch fees.
Organizers confirmed the plans via the ‘Thorpe Park Owners’ Facebook page last year.
The announcement read: “We are delighted to confirm we will be getting a brand-new Adventure Village here at Thorpe Park.”
But owners say they have been billed for fees relating to the project despite not having been consulted or informed in advance.
Speaking via Facebook, one caravan owner wrote: “We should have been told this was extra on our fees. Ground rent has also gone up with development fees paid by the caravan owners.”
“You haven’t consulted with owners. You only shared this info just now, yet you have charged us for this development on our bills,” added another.
One frustrated owner said that the company had “changed” and was “no longer owner friendly.”
Haven / Thorpe Park has been contacted for a statement, but we have yet to receive a response.
