Sidney Park Partnership promotes their first ‘Community Feast’!

An event set for the tight-knitted local network surrounding Sidney Park will feature a Community Feast, at the park.
The group, Sidney Park Partnership, posted to social media advertising the fantastic feast, where attendees can bring food and beverages to share an evening with like-minded others.
The Sidney Park Partnership, including various others, work hard to maintain their park and the local area. A regular litter-pick takes place every Monday by local children who are concerned about their environment. The litter pick was founded by children of SPP, who led the charge in keeping their park wonderful.
In their post regarding the event they said:
“We would love you all to come and join us for our first Community Feast at Sidney Park on Friday 15th July 2022, from 5 pm.
“Prepare and share a meal with the SPP Community or simply join us for food and a chat.
“Please be aware if bringing hot/warm food we have no way of warming it up on-site so it will need to be hot on arrival.
“We look forward to seeing you all there.”
Aside from their regular activities, a litter-pick has been scheduled today, by the group, in the Fuller Street area, where the council has provided PPE and pickers for usage.
“The SPP will be litter picking the Fuller st area of the beach tonight from 4 pm and we would love for you all to join us. The council has provided us with PPE and pickers for the afternoon and I’ll bring ice creams for all the little helpers who join us,” they said.

Speaking about their latest effort prior, The Sidney Park Partnership said on social media:

“This afternoon we litter picked the whole park removing 8 bags of rubbish and a chair from the pond. Thank you to everyone who helped out, the park is looking amazing.

“And in an attempt to bring more birds to the Jubilee Garden we’ve varnished loads of bird boxes painted by local families ready to go up in the trees next week, put loads of park-made bird feeders around the park, and the children tonight even made eco-friendly bird feeders to take home with them.

“Everyone at the SPP loves watching the community coming together on Monday nights, together we will make a better, more colourful, and safer Sidney Park.”

“Residents actually getting in the pond itself to clean it and ensuring activities are being developed with some of our younger residents.” Councillor Marie Green said.

“Their Green Influencers group visits the park weekly and completes a park-wide litter pick which I think is amazing that young people show such concern. They have also been gardening and are developing a new micro park within the area of the football pavilion.”
