Update after Stagecoach bus collides with shelter in Cleethorpes
A Stagecoach Bus was seen colliding with a bus shelter earlier this week in Cleethorpes, as photos of the incident quickly circulated on social media. The incident took place on Monday, July 4, at around 5 pm.
According to reports, the bus was travelling along its usual route and collided with the shelter, with passengers on board. There were no reported injuries at the scene, according to the Stagecoach East Midlands spokesperson.
It is understood the driver of the vehicle has received a precautionary suspension, in unison with their internal investigations. Stagecoach was contacted regarding the incident.
A spokesperson from Stagecoach East Midlands said: “We are aware of an incident involving one of our vehicles on St Peter’s Avenue in Cleethorpes on Monday, July 4th, 2022. We take all incidents very seriously and are working hard to investigate this further. Fortunately, there were no injuries at the scene and the driver has been placed on precautionary suspension pending the investigation.”
Humberside Police were contacted, however, no information or reports were available.
