Design for new Sea Road hoardings revealed
Designs for new hoardings surrounding a vacant development site on Sea Road in Cleethorpes have been revealed.
Plans to redecorate the boards first emerged in February following the controversial revelation that £1m in funding intended for the redevelopment of the site was spent on demolishing the former Waves nightclub and improving nearby footpaths.
The site has remained empty since.
A “national marketing campaign” is said to be underway to find an operator for a “planned new multi-functional building.”
Now, the proposed designs have been unveiled.

Gi Grimsby News contacted North East Lincolnshire Council for information regarding the cost of the new hoardings, but were told that they were “unavailable”.
An updated statement issued as part of a planning application reads: “As this location is in a prime site in the heart of the tourism area on Central Prom, this advertising consent application seeks to cover the existing hoardings with new graphics.
“The detail will inform the local community and visitors of what Cleethorpes has to offer, and also to provide information about the proposals within the recently approved master plan.”
The plans were unveiled last week and are subject to consideration.
Updates to follow.
