Cleethorpes Italian restaurant to close after 22 years
The much loved Valerie’s Italian restaurant in Cleethorpes will be shutting its doors after 22 years of serving locals.
The final day of business will be April 9 but unfortunately for those wanting to dine at the establishment one last time the restaurant is fully booked from now until closing day.
A planning application has already been submitted to turn the Kingsway restaurant into a one-bedroom flat, with the potential to be rented out as an Air BnB.
Owners Valerie and John Armstrong will be retiring 22 years after first opening their loved Italian, which has a rating of 4,5 stars on Trip Advisor with over 400 reviews.
One recent review said: “Food was great, the atmosphere was incredible and service was as friendly as it always is. Pizzas are always great and go down well with the whole family.”
Valerie’s opened on December 1, 2000, serving a wide range of Italian dishes from 5 pm every Tuesday to Saturday.
The couple said they are sad to be closing their restaurant but are looking forward to a break.
They will continue to maintain the Air BnB apartments in the building, with a planning application set to be considered by North East Lincolnshire Council to convert the ground floor.
