Investigation launched into ‘vax’ graffiti incident

Police have launched an investigation after several incidents of graffiti were reported in Louth and the surrounding area.

The first spate of graffiti is thought to have appeared on a door on Bridge Street between Sunday the 27th of March and Monday the 28th of March.

Lincolnshire Police have now issued a public appeal as part of efforts to identify the culprit.

A spokesperson for the force wrote:

“We are appealing for any information with regards to Graffiti which has been written on a garage door on Bridge Street, Louth over night between Sunday 27th March and Monday 28th March.

“If you have any information please can you email the Louth Neighbourhood policing team.”

A number of locals have since come forward expressing their frustration and offering details regarding other similar incidents.

One wrote: “Somebody somewhere knows who is doing this. Simply astonishing in this day and age that they haven’t been spotted.

“Ultimately, if anyone knows who is doing this, it is up to their conscience to do the right thing.

“Everyone is free to have their own opinions but deliberately degrading the quality of the local neighbourhood is simply beyond what is free speech.”

Another added: “It’s on the signs on the way out to Reston and the big green thing on the lay-by just the other side of the turn off to Little Carlton after Legbourne yet again!

“It’s got to be the same person surely? It certainly looks to be the same hand writing!”

Anyone with information should contact the non-emergency number 101.
