Police issue statement after multi-vehicle response at Oriental Express
Humberside Police have now issued an update after multiple police vehicles were spotted racing to the Oriental Express car park in Cleethorpes.
According to reports, at least three police cars and a police van were seen racing towards Cleethorpes on Sunday 27 March at roughly 10:30 am.
Witnesses reported seeing officers surround one car in particular before making arrests.
Now, the force has confirmed that a man and a woman were arrested on suspicion of handling stolen goods.
Officers stopped the vehicle near the boating lake after reports that the vehicle was stolen.
The man and the woman have been released while the investigation continues.
A spokesperson for Humberside Police said: “A man and a woman have been arrested on suspicion of handling stolen goods after a stolen motor vehicle was spotted yesterday (Sunday 27 March).
“Officers stopped the vehicle safely near to the boating lake in Cleethorpes.
“The man and the woman have since been released under investigation whilst our enquiries continue.”
