Top restaurateur claims Prosecco is only good for descaling your kettle.
Do you love a bottle of Prosecco for all your special occasions? or maybe when having a drink with friends.
Well according to a leading restaurateur most of the Prosecco that is being drunk is only good for cleaning dentures or descaling kettles.
The founder of the award-winning Polpo Venetian restaurant Russell Norman believes that apart from mixing it in cocktails he would leave it to hen parties and wearers of novelty T-shirts.
He gave his scathing remarks in food an drink magazine Noble Rot.
Lidl car park Prosecco at £3.33 a bottle was singled out, he was also horrified by the growth of Prosecco themed gifts.
He pointed out that good Prosecco was still available in the UK and recommended those labelled Cartizze which costs £30 a bottle.
