A primary school is planning to kill the pet pigs.

A primary school is planning to kill the pet pigs that are living in its mini farmyard.

A former student has set up an online petition stating the school will be teaching children that it is ok to exploit animals, with the justification being that people enjoy eating their bodies. The petition has reached almost 2,000 signatures.

The school’s headteacher claims that raising pets for slaughter is going to teach children about the issues around animal welfare.

Animal welfare campaigners claim it is cruel and think it could be traumatic for children.

Do you think it is ok for children to raise pigs for slaughter?

Or do you believe it is a cruel thing to do?

So will there be a taste testing session once the deed us done? To kill the pigs would be just another day to a few children but I suspect the majority will feel be extremely sad. This could be the best way to create a generation of veggies. A lesson the kids will never forget, and not in a good way.

It won’t be traumatic at all. We raised pigs when I was little and killing them was like a part of our lives. Now it’s just normal to n#know where my food comes from.

We raise animals for slaughter & my children know that but I think it is wrong for a school to do this it is up to parents to teach there children where meat comes from & even though we do it i am shocked that a primary school would think this is ok 😱
