New owners are taking over the Dicovery Centre from North East Lincs Council.They have got plans for a Pizza restaurant. They will take over the running of the Discovery Centre, sandpit and paddling pool They have revealed big plans to revamp the attractions and so make them better for local people and businesses.
They are planning to bring a new wood-fired Pizza restaurant to the Discovery Centre. Also improvements to the play facilities, information desk, and cafe. The new owners will also take over the public toilets in the area and are hoping to keep them free for public use.
The new owners are believed to be looking at ways of improving or replacing the paddling pool with splash pads, It is thought that there will be a public consultation held after the summer to see what the public prefer. The sandpit would also have improvements done to it.
It is believed part of the Discovery centre will be a dog friendly area. The new owners will keep all the staff who currently work there while creating 20 to 30 new jobs. If everything goes well it is thought they would like to be open for the middle of June.
