Confirmation of Suggitts Lane Crossing Closure.
( Dates and times of peaceful protest below )
Network Rail yesterday confirmed they are to close the crossing at the end of the month.
This is going to affect so many people especially those that live in that immediate area, as well as local businesses .
Again as said in the other posts it is to close because there’s been quite a number of near misses lately, kids playing in the tracks, people running across in front of the trains, rushing to get to the other side instead of waiting an extra minute.
We are asking whilst it is still open that people take notice of this and cross safely, educate your children about using the crossing safely, wait that extra minute to Cross, we are trying our best to turn this round, but won’t help if people are not taking care on the crossing.
We are asking for as many people as possible to sign our poll you can find in a post on the DN 35 Crimewatch page which, will be handed in as a petition to Network rail.
There are also petitions going into local shops and you can also find a petition at number 75 Suggitts Lane, as the member of the group that lives there has kindly offered to keep a petition there should anyone passing g want to sign.
This Saturday 9 the March at 1 pm we are also gathering at the Suggitts crossing and are asking as many people come out in support of keeping the crossing open, we need to show Network rail exactly how many people that this is going to affect and how much that it is relied upon and needed, we need as many people there as possible, please .
Do please have a walk down with your friends and family to show your support,. We are expecting local press there and Look North.
That’s …….
SUGGITTS LANE CROSSING 1 PM THIS SATURDAY 9TH MARCH
PEACEFUL PROTEST.
Also Network rail is holding a Public Information meeting on
THURSDAY 21st MARCH
ST PETERS CHURCH HALL
BETWEEN 3-7 PM
We need as many people there as possible too to attend this meeting,. We are asking that this meeting is kept peaceful as we are going to be there stating our case to try to keep the crossing open,. So need as many people there to support us with this.
Cllrs Matthew Patrick and Cllrs Debbie Rodwell are both playing a massive part in trying to keep the crossing open, and doing everything they can. Massive thank you to them both for their ongoing support with this.
Once the crossing is closed we cannot do anything about it, we need to try to stop this from closing before the end of the month,.
PLEASE SIGN PETITIONS AND PLEASE COME TO THE GATHERINGS TO SHOW YOUR SUPPORT.
MANY THANKS.
