By Netflix show finale receives major backlash
A Netflix show has taken the internet by storm after many viewers binge-watched the series on the platform, set surrounding a family and is based on a true story.
The Watcher follows the family as they move into their dream suburban home and begin to receive eerie letters from a stalker ‘obsessed’ with their house.
The series received praise and positive reviews, even beating the highly popular Dahmer from the top 10 spots.
Although despite the praise, unfortunately, the ending of the show has left people furious. Initially, Theodora (Noma Dumezweni), a private detective hired by the family, ends up confessing to being The Watcher.
The detective convinced the family that she was the former occupant of the house, who attempted to scare them, but is later revealed that Theodora is terminally ill and lied about the whole thing
The end of the series leaves the Watcher’s identity unknown, with the same conclusion being drawn in real life.
One unimpressed user tweeted: “The ending of The Watcher might be hands down the worst ending to any piece of cinema I’ve ever had to see.”
A third person said: “The Watcher on Netflix…don’t even watch that s**t im p*ssed TOTAL WASTE OF TIME had me all into the show for 7 episodes and the ending is complete and total bs! You had me terrified for hours…couldn’t go to sleep and that ending make me angry! so dumb WASTE OF TIME.”
Another said: “DON’T watch The Watcher on Netflix there’s no ending to it, and no one figures out who the watcher is ur welcome.”
“Just finished The Watcher. I know it’s based on a true story but that ending made the whole series an absolute waste of time,” one other person added.
