Ezra Miller could face a lengthy conviction
Ezra Miller has entered a plea of not guilty to felony burglary charges but could face a lengthy sentence if found guilty and convicted.
The Flash star appeared remotely in court charged with a felony of burglary in the state of Vermont, after an incident earlier this year.
Miller was accused of stealing bottles of liquor from a neighbour’s house while the residents were away.
As a condition of their release, Miller was told to stay away from the person who owned the home they are accused of breaking into, as well as being ordered to keep a distance from another resident, Aiden Early.
Miller’s attorney, Lisa Skelkrot, agreed to the conditions, with the orders to stay away from certain individuals being on the list of five. Miller acknowledged the judge that they understood the rules.
If Miller is found guilty of the charges, they could face up to 26 years behind bars, with a maximum of 25 for the burglary charge, and another year for larceny.
Police investigating the burglaries said they’d had ‘probable cause’ to charge the actor with the burglary, saying the evidence collected included ‘surveillance videos and statements.
Following being charged with burglary the actor said they were ‘suffering complex mental health issues’.
They also said they had begun treatment and ‘want to apologize to everyone that I have alarmed and upset with my past behaviour’.
Miller said that they were ‘committed to doing the necessary work to get back to a healthy, safe and productive stage’.
