Couple to undertake massive charity walk after tragic loss of newborn son

A remarkable couple will be undertaking a monumental charity walk in aid of an organisation that helped them in their darkest time.

Courtney and her partner will be walking from Grimsby all the way to the Lake District in a bid to raise money and awareness for SANDS (Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Support).

After the couple sadly lost their baby bay to stillborn in October 2021, they were referred to SANDS for support.

Courtney said that their “outstanding support” has made her want to carry out the charity walk in support of the organisation and to raise awareness of stillborn births.

Sharing their amazing plan on their Just Giving page she said: “Me and my partner lost our little boy Luca Alan Richard Green in October 2021, stillborn at 36 weeks which broke us. We were put in touch with SANDS.

“Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Support have been outstanding with all the support and information so I’ve decided to do this walk in support of SANDS and to raise awareness on stillborn births.

“I want people to know they are not alone. Every bit of donations made will help SANDS with future crucial help for other families going through what we have been through.”

June 1 2022 marks national SANDS day, making it the perfect date for the couple to start their walk to the Lake District.

Joined by other Earth Angels, parents who sadly lost their babies to stillborn, they will begin their trek from Grimsby and hopefully arrive at their destination three days later.

Donations can be made via their Just giving page found here.
