Cleethorpes MP’s daughter up for local elections
The local elections are set out for May, with candidates hoping to be elected for their local constituency.
Christine Vickers, the daughter of Martin Vickers, is running for the Conservative party as a candidate.
The party is reportedly eyeing two more seats on North East Lincolnshire Council in the local election.
It has been a controversial three years for the Conservative party, through Lockdown and allegations.
She is standing in the Sidney Sussex ward, it is reportedly her first time standing.
The current Councillor for Sidney Sussex is Cllr Marie Green.
There is an election for one Councillor (North East Lincolnshire Council) in each of the following Wards:
- Croft Baker
- Freshney
- Haverstoe
- Heneage
- Humberston and New Waltham
- Immingham
- Park
- Scartho
- Sidney Sussex
- South
- Waltham
- West Marsh
- Wolds
- Yarborough
There is an election for two Councillors in the following Ward:
- East Marsh
On their website, NELC has outlined guidance for the local elections, including the method of ballot supervision.
“The verification and count of all North East Lincolnshire Council ballot papers will take place at 10 pm on Thursday 5th May 2022 at Grimsby Auditorium/Grimsby Leisure Centre, Cromwell Road, Grimsby.
“Entrance to the counting of votes is strictly controlled for security reasons and all passes will need to be collected by Election Agents during normal office hours during 3rd and 4th May 2022. “.
The methods of voting can be in person at your registered polling station, postal votes to be completed properly, or a nominated proxy vote.
“Your polling station will be listed on your poll card, if you do not have your polling card do not assume the station closest to you is where you can vote.”.
