Witnesses to attempted robbery on Sea Road urged to come forward
Witnesses to a reported attempted robbery are being urged to come forward by police after an incident took place on Sea Road in Cleethorpes on Saturday afternoon.
Between 2.15pm and 2.40pm, three men approached a person on a bike.
One man is alleged to have tried to assault the victim as another attempted to steal the bike – but the victim was able to ride off to safety.
A spokesperson for Humberside Police said: “Officers investigating into a reported attempted robbery are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
“It was reported that on Saturday 16 October 2021, between 2:15pm and 2:40pm, a person was cycling on a black mountain bike along Sea Road, Cleethorpes, when he was approached by three men.
“One man is reported to have attempted to assault the victim whilst another is reported to have attempted to take the bike before the victim rode off to safety.
“Two of the men are reported to be 5”11 – 6ft tall, with another at around 5ft 3” tall. One man was said to have been wearing glasses, another wearing a dark green jacket, dark blue jeans and a dark beanie hat and the other wearing a navy blue Adidas top and bottoms with white stripes down each leg.
“We would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incident, who has not yet spoken with us, to call us on our non-emergency number 101 quoting crime number 16/102417/21.”
