The Jungle Zoo’s iconic lion sells for £600

The Jungle Zoo’s iconic lion has sold for £600 after the owners give fans the opportunity to purchase the ultimate memento following the attraction’s shock closure.

The Cleethorpes facility closed its doors for the final time last month to the widespread disappointment of locals and tourists.

Speaking at the time a spokesperson said: “We have seen an enormous rise in general running costs and due to several factors it has become clear the zoo is no longer able to carry on.

“As you can imagine it has taken a lot of thinking about, we are devastated but we simply have no choice.”

Following this heart-breaking decision owners decided to auction off the facility’s lion sculpture to raise funds for local charity Cleethorpes Wildlife Rescue, fetching an incredible £600!
