Here’s where to see the Jungle Zoo’s animals

The Jungle Zoo in Cleethorpes has provided an update regarding the relocation of its animals following the shock closure of the facility earlier this month.
A spokesperson for the company announced the sad news via social media.
They wrote: “We have some very sad news to share with our loyal customers. The Jungle Zoo will be closing it’s doors for the final time on the 2nd of October 2022.
“We have seen an enormous rise in general running costs and due to several factors it has become clear the zoo is no longer able to carry on.
“As you can imagine it has taken a lot of thinking about, we are devastated but we simply have no choice.
“Our animals will be transferred to reputable collections around the UK, with only the best being chosen for each species and we are trying to keep them as local as possible so you can still visit your favourite characters.”
Most of the animals have now been transferred to their new homes, with several going to live with Jungle Zoo staff members.
Here’s where you can see your favourite Jungle Zoo friends:
The goats, sugar gliders, leopard tortoise and red footed tortoise have gone to Melsop Farm Park in Norwich.
The turtles, terrapins, large snakes, alligators and iguana have all gone to Unconventional Menagerie in Stoke-on-Trent.
Nunny’s Farm in Grimsby have taken on the Jungle Zoo’s pigs and guinea pigs, meaning they can still be visited locally.
Cleethorpes Wildlife Rescue have also taken Sinbad and Molly the macaws.
George the coatimundi, several parakeets and zebra finches have gone to Filey Bird and Animal Park.
Other animals have been split between Gentleshaw in Stafford, Retford College, Messingham Zoo, South Wales University and Bishop Burton college.
Staff remain on site to make sure any remaining animals have a smooth transition.
