Tragedy as man dies getting into difficulties at Humberston Fitties
Officers responded to a call from Humberston Fitties yesterday, as a man has sadly died after getting into difficulties in the water, off the beach at Humberston Fitties.
Humberside Police said officers were called to Humberston Fitties beach at around 4 pm on Wednesday, August 10, after reports concerning a man’s safety. They found the man unconscious after being in distress in the water. Coastguard, RNLI, ambulance crews, and police were present at the scene.
CPR and lifesaving efforts were carried out by the lifeboat crew and paramedics, but sadly, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
A Humberside Police spokesperson said: “Our thoughts are with man’s family and loved ones who were supported by officers on scene.” The incident has been reported to HM Coroner, the spokesperson added.
A spokeswoman for Lincs and Notts Air Ambulance said: “Our LNAA crew attended an incident in the Humberston area yesterday (Wednesday 10 August 2022). The crew was flown to the scene on board the helicopter, putting our doctor-paramedic team by the side of the patient in under 20 mins.”
