By When and where to see the flying displays this armed forces weekend
Armed forces weekend kicks off tomorrow and excitement is quickly building for the much-loved event that draws in hundreds of thousands of visitors.
Flying displays are the highlight of the weekend, as expert pilots take to the skies to dazzle and amaze viewers with breath-taking stunts.
On Saturday trade stalls open at 10 am for business along the seafront, followed by a motorcycle parade and the armed forces parade at noon.
From 1 pm until 5 pm the flying displays will begin, specific timings are flexible on the day but the displays in flight order are:
• Typhoon
• BBMF – Lancaster, Spitfire Hurricane
• Miles Gemini Display
• Aircraft (TBC)
• Starling Display
• The Red Arrows
The rest of the day is jam-packed full of family fun, including:
14.00 – Cavalry Display (Pier Gardens)
15.00 – All for One Choir (Memorial Gate Stage)
15.30 – RAF Waddington Pipe Band (Memorial Gate)
15.30 – Cavalry Display (Pier Gardens)
17.00 – Grimsby & District Pipe Band (Memorial Gate)
17.30 – Armed Forces Thank-you Concert Pt 1 (Memorial Gate Stage)
18.30 – Beat the Retreat – Sea Cadet Band (Memorial Gate Stage)
19.15 -22.15 – Armed Forces Thank-you Concert Pt 2 (Memorial Gate Stage)
22.30 – Firework Display to Music (Promenade)
On Sunday trade stalls once again open at 10 am followed by cavalry displays, the Grimsby and District Pipe band and the Pauline Quirk Academny.
Starting at 1 pm and running until 4:30 pm, flying displays will once again wow audiences, the displays in flight order are:

• Royal Navy Black Cats Helicopter Display Team
• Hurricane
• Miles Gemini Display
• Aircraft (TBC)
• Typhoon
