‘From the Saltmarsh’ celebrates it’s diverse art and science!
A free day of talks focusing on the art and science of the saltmarsh is set for next month, featuring art, science, poetry, and ecology.
The event, From the Saltmarsh, will be held at Cleethorpes Library, Alexandra Road, Cleethorpes, where the talks will take place. A celebration of the diverse plant and wildlife on the marsh, from a wide variety of speakers with a vast catalogue of knowledge, will make the day informative and creative.
On Saturday 9 July, from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm the free day of talks will also include a light lunch. The organisers have said the event is free, but limited numbers means the booking is essential.

The event will feature talks from various individuals, Veronica Sekules will speak about her work running the only gallery in the UK devoted to environmentalism and art.
Nicola Hemmings, a bird ecologist, will talk regarding bird fertility, focusing on the endangered saltmarsh birds.
Linda Ingham will also be speaking about her recent Arts Council-funded work Gather working with bird reserves in Lincolnshire and beyond. Mick Binnion, a conservationist/ecologist will also be present and is a specialist in botany and British wild orchids.
Artist and Poet, Judith Tucker and Harriet Tarlo will also be in attendance, to talk about their new artist book, Saltwort, a collection of paintings and poems of Saltmarsh plants.
The event forms part of an Arts Council-funded project ‘Hideaway’ and a Royal Society-funded project ‘Every Bird A Nest’.
The day will be a fun, informative event with the opportunity to learn about the rich wildlife and heritage of the area.
