Cleethorpes parking prices increase from next week after ten year freeze

Parking tariffs in Cleethorpes are set to rise from Monday 6 June, following the first review in a decade.

North East Lincolnshire Council accepted a review of parking charges in the resort to raise tariffs at a number of car parks.

The council stated that the increases will bring the resort further into line with other comparable seaside locations, where charges have been higher for some time.

They added that the move will also help to meet rising costs and allow more money to be put back into improvements to the facilities.

The Leader of North East Lincolnshire Council, Cllr Philip Jackson: “People in North East Lincolnshire have benefitted from lower pricing of parking in certain areas since 2012 when tariffs were last reviewed. Car parking tariffs in Cleethorpes have fallen below the current rate of other resorts such as Scarborough and Skegness for many years.

“The council must also take into account that inflation is currently running at a high level, which has increased operational costs. Please be assured that any money made via parking revenues is reinvested into the borough’s car parks.”

Signage in the carparks in question has been updated, prior to the changes coming into effect on Monday.
