Three teenagers arrested after suspected ‘arson’

On Monday the 18th (yesterday) there were reports of a blaze at premises originally identified on Wingate Road.

It is understood there were multiple vehicles in attendance with the alleged blaze and Humberside Fire & Rescue posted to social media, confirming their attendance of an incident.

“We have 4 Fire engines and 1 aerial ladder platform in attendance at an incident in Wingate Road, Grimsby.”

From reports, residents were evacuated and it was alleged that around three properties may have been victims of the blaze.

Following the incident yesterday three teenagers have been arrested in connection with the incident.

There were no reported injuries from the fire which took over two hours to extinguish.

Humberside Police have released a statement regarding the arrests:

“Three teenage boys have been arrested following an incident on Cheshire Walk, Grimsby yesterday (Monday 18 April).

“We were called shortly after 12:15 pm by members of the public to reports of three properties on fire.

“Following a coordinated response by emergency services all residents were evacuated and nobody was injured as a result of the incident.

“Two 14-year-old boys and a 16-year-old boy were arrested on suspicion of criminal damage, affray, and arson.

“We would ask that if anyone was in the area at the time of the incident that has information that would help with our inquiries to please call us on our non-emergency number 101 quoting log number 276 of 18 April.”.
