Man with knife arrested on St Peters Avenue
Humberside Police have issued an update following an incident which caused disruption on St Peters Avenue in Cleethorpes on Saturday the 9th of April.
Officers were initially called to the scene at around 2:30pm following reports of a three-vehicle collision involving a van and two cars.
Rumours swirled after they were spotted searching several vehicles at the scene.
Now, police have confirmed that a man who was found to be making threats while in possession of a knife, has been charged with a public order offence.
Speaking via Facebook, a spokesperson for the force wrote: “A male has been charged with a public order offence after being heard to make threats involving a knife on St Peters Avenue yesterday.”
In an updated statement issued this morning officers named the suspect as Thomas Connors, 30, of High Street Chesterfield, confirming that he has been charged with assault.
They said: “A man has been charged with assault after an incident on St Peter’s Avenue, Cleethorpes, at around 2:15pm on Saturday (9 April).
“Thomas Connors (30), of High Street, Chesterfield, is reported to have made verbal threats to a woman and pulled her from a vehicle.
“The victim, who was known to Connors, was uninjured.”
Connors is due to appear at Grimsby Magistrates Court next month.
