Cleethorpes restaurant owner served with repossession order

A second popular food outlet in Cleethorpes has sadly closed this morning, following a dramatic incident which saw police arrive at another restaurant on the same road earlier this week.

A locksmith arrived at Thomas Green’s on Sea View Street, Cleethorpes, to change the locks this morning. They were accompanied by enforcement officers who pasted a High Court letter on the shutters, notifying the tenant of a repossession order.

The letter, pasted on the shutters of Thomas Green’s and addressed to Mr Mohammed Hussain Jakir – locally known as Jax Hussain, reads: “As you were not present when we repossessed this property we formally notify you of the following –

“The good lefts at the premises 12 Sea View Street, Cleethorpes DN35 8EZ

“You have 14 days from the date of this notice to remove all your goods and belongings from the property.”

A woman arrived shortly after 9:05am and was seen removing the forfeiture notices.

Police were called to a similar incident outside the unit formerly known as Arthur’s House on Monday morning.

Gi Grimsby News reported that on that occasion, three men arrived to remove forfeiture notices which had been placed on the restaurant windows, before smashing a window to force entry.

Humberside Police referred to the incident on Monday as a “civil matter”.

Shortly after, the landlord which owns the property confirmed that Arthur’s House would not be reopening.

Updates to follow.
