By Cleethorpes woman seriously injured in domestic assault
Humberside Police have labelled a violent incident which occurred yesterday evening as one of the ‘worst’ they had seen.
According to reports, officers were called to the scene in Cleethorpes last night following reports of a domestic assault.
On arrival, the female caller was found to have sustained ‘significant injuries.’
The male suspect had already left the scene, but was found nearby and arrested a short while after.
Speaking via Facebook, a spokesperson for the force wrote: “Patrol Team 3 attended a report of a domestic related assault this evening.
“The female who called us sustained significant injuries and the male had left the scene.
“Officers promptly located the suspect nearby and was arrested for domestic related GBH”.
“The victim is now getting support from officers and the suspect is now in custody.
“Officers tonight have witnessed possibly one of the worst assaults we have seen for a long time”
Locals have responded to the incident with shock and disgust, commending the officers involved for their sensitivity and hard work.
