Vaccinations could help towards a ‘free’ Summer

Health Secretary Matt Hancock raised the hopes of millions of Britons as he said that he expected a ‘Great British summer’ powered by the success of the vaccine rollout.

Mr Hancock has suggested the UK could enjoy a “happy and free” summer after millions are vaccinated against coronavirus.

He added: “I think we are going to have a great summer, but we will have a tough few months between now and then.”

Is it too soon to be booking a holiday?

It is said holiday booking sites have reported increased traffic with holiday firms, airlines and travel experts ready for an upturn ahead of the summer.

It is possible that international travel will return to normal once vaccines are widely distributed. But it is advisable to wait for clear signs from the government that restrictions are being eased before booking.
