We are currently recruiting for a Commercial Property Solicitor on a fixed term 2 year contract to join our friendly, award-winning legal team here at Milton Keynes Council. Working closely with our Property and Facilities colleagues you will have a caseload of matters with local importance. You will enjoy a significant level of day-to-day autonomy but with all the support you will need.

Key Duties

• Advising on key legal risks associated with estate transactions
• Drafting and reviewing transfers, deeds of covenant, pre-emption agreements, overage, etc
• Dealing with instructions through to post completion

Experience, Qualifications and any Mandatory Requirements

• The ideal candidate will be NQ to 3 years’ PQE with experience of land disposal and acquisition-focused work.
• Previous experience of working in a local authority is not required.

Skills Required

• Resilience to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment with great communication skills and excellent attention to detail
• Experience in relevant legal areas including; commercial property, planning, landlord and tenant and leasehold
• The ability to work autonomously, exercise discretion and sound judgement where necessary
