Two arrested on suspicion of murder after two stabbed in Leigh Park
Two men have been arrested on suspicion of murder, after two people were found with stab wounds in Leigh Park.
One of the victims has now died.
Police were called at 11pm on Saturday night to a disturbance on Tichborne Grove, Leigh Park.
At the scene, officers found a man and woman who had both been stabbed.
Ambulance crews attended but unfortunately the 21-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 27-year-old woman from Southsea was taken to Southampton General Hospital for treatment.
Her injuries are described as serious but not life-threatening.
Local residents reported hearing screaming before the authorities were alerted.
Following the incident, where two people were stabbed in Leigh Park, two men, a 31-year-old man from Hayling Island and a 25-year-old man from Camborne in Cornwall have been arrested on suspicion of murder and are currently in custody.
This comes after another body found in Havant Thicket was confirmed to be missing Havant teenager Louise Smith.
Detective inspector Lee McClellan from Hampshire Constabulary’s Major Crime Unit, said:
“We would like to reassure the public that we believe this to be an isolated incident and there is no wider risk to the community.
“We will be in the area throughout the day conducting our enquiries so if any residents have any concerns, please come and speak to our officers.”
