Woman kept prisoner by Cleethorpes dating site stalker
A woman has been kept prisoner by a Cleethorpes dating site stalker. A Cleethorpes man has now admitted to false imprisonment, assault, sending malicious messages and possessing cannabis.
David Tuson, 36, kept the woman hostage and told her he hoped someone raped her. He later assaulted her himself.
A court heard how Tuscon refused to let the woman leave, pushed her onto a bed and sexually, verbally and physically assaulted her. She has since been suffering nightmares and has visited her doctor several times, suffering from anxiety.
The prosecution told Grimsby Crown Court that Tuson met the victim on the dating website Plenty of Fish. He later sent her a Facebook friend request, which she accepted.
The pair entered a relationship, which the victim later ended. She told Tuson that she did not wish to have further contact with him, which he ignored.
This resulted in Tuson sending her abusive and threatening messages and voicemails.
During the assault Tuson told the victim how he hoped that the next person she met would rape and beat her.
He also threatened to report her to social services, and claim that she was abusing her children.
The eventual assault was preceded by a number of threatening incidents, including one where Tuson shouted through the victims letter box.
On the final occasion, he abused her in the street, and forced her into his car before confining her in his home.
The prosecution, Louise Reevell, told the court how he:
“Refused to let her leave.
He grabbed her arm and pushed her. She told him that he was scaring her.
He pushed her on the bed and tried to kiss her.
Eventually, he let her leave.”
The incident had lasted for about an hour.
Tuson was previously convicted for a domestic public order incident in 2016.
In 2017, he was also jailed for a period of 16 months after admitting to aggravated vehicle taking.
Judge John Thackray QC told Tuson:
“You terrorised your former partner. She was understandably terrified of you and you have a history of domestic abuse.
Your offending had a profound effect upon her. She must have been terrified during that one-hour period.”
Tuson has been jailed for 18 months and given an indefinite restraining order.
