Two men jailed in £1.5million smuggling plot.
Cocaine that was worth £1.5m on the streets was seized when a lorry was followed from Immingham docks after the large haul had arrived from Holland.
A sophisticated international syndicate that was behind the high haul of drugs was foiled when investigators busted the operation after keeping tabs on the lorry.
The lorry driver was caught when he met up with a man in a smart car who gave him £7,000 cash and took the cocaine packages. Danny Goodall 39 and Michal Piasecki 36 admitted conspiracy to supply 15kg of cocaine on May 27th.
Piasecki also admitted smuggling cocaine and converting £7,000 criminal property. Piasecki claimed that he thought he was transporting a bag of tools. Goodall’s smart car had a secret compartment under the seat, he was banned from driving at the time.
Goodall, Of Basingstoke Hampshire, was jailed for seven and a half years he had 29 previous convictions. Piasecki of Peach Tree Close, Scunthorpe was jailed for five years. The car mobile phones and £7,000 cash will be forfeited.
