Long sentence for woman who slashed victims face open.
Humberside Police.
A 27-year-old woman has been jailed for a vicious knife attack in Grimsby which left another woman scarred for life.
Chloe Strong (pictured) of no fixed abode was sentenced to 7 years and 9 months in prison at Grimsby Crown Court for the attack which happened on Railway Street in the town on Wednesday 5 June 2019.
Strong had carried out the attack following a reported argument with her victim who was left with a deep cut on the right side of her head about 7 inches (18cm) long.
Detective Inspector Kerry Bull from Grimsby CID said: “This assault on the victim was horrendous and has resulted in her sustaining life changing injuries. Her scar will be a constant reminder of the terrifying experience she went through.
“We have worked closely with the victim and have provided support to her throughout. She showed incredible courage and strength in coming forward and working with us to bring her attacker to justice.
“Chloe Strong initially claimed the attack was in self-defence and pleaded her innocence all the way through her trial.
“The reality is that on the day of the attack Strong had brought a Stanley knife with her, and she used it.
“She was arrested two days later and, on that day, blades were also found on her. That shows to me the level of violence Chloe Strong was prepared to go to with a knife.
“We do not and will not tolerate any sort of knife related crime across Humberside Police. This is one shocking example of what can happen when someone like Chloe Strong decides to use a blade in anger, and in crime.
“I want to thank my officers for their work in this case and congratulate them for taking this dangerous woman off the streets of Grimsby.”
