How would you have handled this situation?

One of my friends visited a local supermarket and while there she got in a conversation with a sprightly elderly gentleman. She felt a bit sorry for him as he told her he lived on his own and he came to the supermarket for the company on a Sunday morning.

She then passed him in another aisle and just smiled. But as she was leaning over one of the freezers he came up behind her and felt her bottom in a suggestive manner. As she turned round to confront him he vanished and she could find him to remonstrate.

It left her feeling uncomfortable and feeling like she should not have been so friendly. But was she right to feel that way? Should she have asked the supermarket to look at their CCTV and asked them to confront him? Or should she just let it go and chalk it down to experience. It left her wondering what other people would have done in that situation.
