2 people arrested on suspicion of the murders of the 39 bodies.

39 Bodies found in refrigerator lorry in Essex.

A man and a woman have been questioned and arrested on suspicion of manslaughter after 39 bodies were discovered in the back of a refrigerated lorry in Essex, All the dead bodies have been reported as Chinese.

Both suspects are from Warrington, Cheshire and both aged 38. They were taking into custody following the warrants that were carried out.

Detectives are still questioning the lorry driver on suspicion of murder.

One of the biggest mass murder probes in British history has been launched after 39 bodies were discovered in the back of a lorry travelling through Essex.
Police confirm they have made an arrest for murder – a 25-year-old lorry driver from Northern Ireland was detained by Police after arriving at the industrial park in Grays where the 39 bodies were discovered at 1:40 am this morning.

It is alleged the lorry was travelling from Bulgaria, having crossed via ferry to the UK.

The identity of the victims is yet unknown but Police have confirmed that one of the bodies is that of a teenager.
More to follow as police investigate further into the tragedy.
