Police Crack Down on county lines drug gangs.

Police have recorded a significant number of arrests this week to challenge county lines drug gangs.

Police Officers have arrested 743 people and grasped drugs valued just over £400,000, 12 guns and many other weapons.

The procedure, by forces across England and Wales, resulted in the “disruption” of 49 “deal lines”, police said.

Senior officers claim more advanced co-operation between forces has resulted in them figuring out more than ever, about the gangs and their activities.

County lines drugs gangs use specific phone lines for this purpose to send numerous messages to shoppers and arrange networks of dispatchers, usually children and vulnerable adults, to distribute the drugs from cities to smaller towns.

The dedicated phone lines are branded with a gang’s name, enabling customers to place orders but the dealers, based in cities further away from the small towns, remain anonymous to avoid getting caught.
