Activity to disrupt organised crime continues in Doncaster
Officers from Doncaster’s Fortify Team and the Serious Violent Crime Task Force made three arrests on Friday (4 October 2019) as part of their continued efforts to tackle organised crime.
A number of vehicles were stopped, searched for illicit items and seized as part of the activity across Mexborough, Conisbrough and Denaby.
Scott Shepherd, 29, of Homefield Crescent, Scawthorpe was arrested on suspicion of drink driving and driving without insurance.
He was charged and released on police bail for both offences.
A 26-year-old man from Conisbrough was arrested on suspicion of vehicle theft, driving without insurance and failing to stop after an accident.
He was released under investigation.
A 24-year-old man, also from Conisbrough was arrested on suspicion of drink driving after failing a roadside test.
He was later released without charge following a further test.
In addition to the arrests, six people were reported on summons for suspected motoring offences including driving without insurance and without an MOT.
Detective Inspector Steve Smith, who leads the Fortify team, said:
“I hope these results show the communities of Mexborough, Conisbrough and Denaby that our efforts to make them safer are continuing.
“But we still need help from you. If you have concerns, tell us. We can’t tackle issues for you if you don’t tell us what they are.
“Please call us on 101 to report something. If you don’t feel comfortable speaking to police, call Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
You can do this anonymously and your information will always be treated in confidence.”
