Man charged with possession of a knife after disorderly scenes on the East Marsh last night.

Mark Stevens 28 has been bailed to appear at Grimsby Magistrate Court on October 21st after chaos on the East Marsh last night.

Humberside Police Officers we’re threatened with a knife after being called to a disturbance in Stanley Street last night, bottles were also thrown at them by a large group.

Mark Stevens from Grimsby has been charged with possession of a knife after an incident in Tunnard Street.

Humberside Police have been given a section 60 order which gives them additional powers to stop and search anyone in a particular area for a specified amount of time, and not require reasonable grounds to do so. It will be in place again from 7 pm tonight until 6 am tomorrow around the East Marsh area.

It came after a man was stabbed in a knife attack on Oxford Street and had injuries to his hands and arms. Two men have been arrested in connection with this incident.

Last night police stopped and searched 90 people and ten vehicles.

They made two arrests for drug related offences. A person has been released without charge and a 42-year-old has been released pending further inquiries.
