Esther McVey Tory leadership hopeful says parents should be able to take their children out of LGBT lessons.

Esther McVey has caused a backlash in her party when she remarked that parents of primary school children should have the final say on whether they wanted to withdraw their children from lessons on LGBT. As she believes parents know best.

Primary school age children are still children and she believes that parents should have the final say on what they want their child to know.

She condemned the parents that are protesting outside a Birmingham primary school. But believes that if parents want to take young children of primary school age out of certain forms of relationship and sex education then it is down to them.

But her colleague Ms Greening said on Twitter You can not pick up and choose on human rights and equality. Children should understand a modern and diverse Britain they’re growing up in.

Do you agree that parents should be able to decide whether their children should attend LGBT lessons?
