The Royal College of GPs suggests in a new report that having 15 minutes or more for a face to face consultation would allow family doctors more time for them to help people with complex health conditions.
It was also suggested that in the future. Longer and shorter appointments should be made available. Which would suit the various needs of the population.
In the UK the average length of GP consultations is 9.2 minutes. One of the lowest among economically advanced nations.
