Banks and customers were conned out of more than £150,000 by Julian Mabutt who pretended to be customers.
For three years he defrauded customers of banks and building societies. He visited their branches using fake passports and IDs to withdraw large sums of cash.
Investigators said customers from Grimsby, Scunthorpe, Hull, and Lincoln were targeted. Julian Marbutt had counterfeit passports and driving licenses which displayed the names of account holders but featured a photo of himself.
More fraudulent withdrawals were attempted of £113,400 but bank staff successfully prevented it.
All the victims have been refunded. Julian Marbutt from Northampton was jailed for three and a half years.
