Do you think primary school children should ever be excluded from school?
There has been a rise in the number of primary school children being sent to pupil referral units in England. The number has doubled since 2011.
It is raising concerns that school exclusion is affecting the youngest children in the education system.
Sadly 28 toddlers of two and under were being taught in pupil referral units in 2018.
But is exclusion the right answer for very young children?
The chair of the Education Select believes that high rates of exclusion are never positive. The current rates are at an epidemic level. He wants a Bill of Rights for excluded children, Which would include an independent panel to review the decision to exclude a child.
Some schools are encouraging children to meditate instead of punishing them but do you think this will help with disruptive children?
