Family Benefits are to be frozen again.

Millions of people will have their benefits frozen for the fourth year in a row.

It will cost some families £1,800 a year. While MP’s get a pay rise of 2.7% to almost £80,000

The freeze passed the House of Commons and will take effect from April 8th. Despite Theresa May said that austerity was coming to an end, with a pay rise for teachers, firefighters, and police.

The Shadow Work and Pensions Secretary said she was very concerned that most working-age benefits are to remain frozen.

It is pushing families, children, and individuals into poverty.

Wants ministers to bring legislation forward to end the longstanding freeze next month, and not wait till 2020.
