Dewey Group are currently recruiting for an experienced Sheet Piling Design Engineer/Manager to join our client busy team.
The Design Manager must have extensive experience in the design of retaining structures with particular regard to; temporary and permanent sheet pile structures; retaining walls, cofferdams, welded steel
framing, H Piles, etc.
This role is predominantly office-based, your duties will include:
?½ Full knowledge of the current design codes
?½ Competent knowledge of soils and geotechnical reports.
?½ Interpret Site Investigation Reports selecting appropriate design parameters
?½ Experience with computer design packages
?½ Preparation and submission of the design brief for all designs undertaken.
?½ Preparation and submission of design reports including design risk assessments.
?½ Attend client design team meetings.
?½ Utilise knowledge & experience to provide tender & contract design assistance. Review client??s requirements and determine exact details.
?½ Carry out full temporary & permanent works design; for example cofferdams, sheet pile retaining walls, framing details, and other associated works.
?½ Prepare specific construction layouts and detailed CAD drawings for sheet piles, framing, and associated works.
?½ Carry out draft/budget designs for tender purposes only, this to be clearly stated in the quotation.
?½ Prepare and carry out sheet piling design for tenders as necessary
?½ Assist others in the selection of materials and sub-contractors when required to do so and
propose alternative materials or methods.
Successful candidates will need to be able to demonstrate:
* Design and Estimating experience on Sheet piling schemes
* Excellent client-facing & communication skills
* Ability to work within an Estimating team
* IT Literate
