Investigations as Cleethorpes burglary sparks cause for concern nearing Christmas
A residential burglary has been reported on Bradford Avenue, Cleethorpes, at approximately 9pm on the 5th December.
It has been reported that the suspect entered via the rear garden of the property.
This is currently under investigation. The Humberside Police neighbourhood policing team will be out in the community today completing Humber Talk surveys with residents and offering Crime Prevention advice.
In the meantime, please have a read of the below information to help protect yourself and your property especially in the run up to Christmas:
1. Keep all doors and windows locked, even if you are at home.
2. Make your property appear occupied through the use of light timers or setting blinds to prevent anyone seeing inside.
3. Ensure that there is nothing that would block your view should an offender approach your property, think whether your garden hedges or trees would prevent you from seeing them.
4. Keep valuables in the home out of general view, it is the festive season and if you have a Christmas Tree, part of the joy can be having all the presents under it, so just ensure they aren’t in open view as best you can.
5. Fit a burglar alarm with visible deterrent bell boxes front and rear.
