Clee Road works to enter final phase
The final phase of work on a main Cleethorpes road has been announced.
Works remain as planned on Clee Road with the second phase of improvements coming to an end, said North East Lincolnshire Council.
This phase has included upgrades to vehicle crossings between Isaac’s Hill roundabout and Davenport Drive, the relocation of the bus stop between Isaac’s Hill and Wollaston Road and upgrades to the traffic signals.
From Monday, November 16, the final phase of improvements will begin and will take two weeks to complete.
Works will be carried out in phases overnight under road closures between 7pm and 6am.
To minimise the impact to businesses and residents, the work areas have been split into three phases:
- Phase one – Between Isaac’s Hill roundabout and Beacon Court. During this phase, access to Beacon Court will be maintained. The parking on Wollaston Road between Clee Road and 2 Wollaston Road will be temporarily suspended. The one-way street between Clee Road and Bursar Street will be temporarily signed as two-way to maintain access for residents.
- Phase two – Between Beacon Court and Kelham Road. During this phase, access to Beacon Court will be suspended.
- Phase three – Between Kelham Road and Davenport Drive. No additional restrictions, apart from the road closure.
The programme of works is:
Tuesday 17 November to Thursday 19 November – Phase one, full road closure between 7pm and 6am. Phase two, full road closure from midnight onwards, carriageway resurfacing works.
Friday 20 November – Phase two, full road closure between 7pm and 6am, carriageway resurfacing works.

Thursday 26 November and Friday 27 November – Phase one, two and three road closures in place for road marking, high friction surfacing works and the installation of traffic signal loops.
Dates are subject to change as the works are weather dependent.
Efforts will be made to maintain vehicle access to properties, but there may be short periods of time when this will not be possible.
Footway access will be maintained at all times. Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained.
