Unmind is a workplace mental health platform. We empower organisations and employees to measurably improve their mental health. We do this by providing clinically-backed assessments, tools, training, and signposting that anyone within an organisation can use to proactively improve their mental wellbeing. Our digital platform is beautifully designed, non-stigmatising and globally scalable – helping to create healthier, happier, more human organisations around the world.

Unmind is transforming mental health in the workplace. We have developed a category-leading digital platform, raised over £10m from top-tier investors, and signed over 100+ clients globally – including the likes of John Lewis, British Airways, and Just Eat… but we’re just getting started.

We believe that everyone has the right to a healthy mind – because we all have mental health, all of the time – and we’re striving to create a world where mental health is universally understood, nurtured, and celebrated.

The Role – Growth Marketing Lead

We have huge plans to change the perception of mental health – and need lots of help in achieving them. At present, our clients have a collective workforce of more than 2 million employees located in over 100 countries around the globe. The Growth Marketing Lead will own our global Growth Marketing strategy – defining and scaling our efforts to attract, engage, and retain Unmind users.

Growth Marketing at Unmind sits at the intersection of Marketing, Client Success, and Product. Signing a new client is only the beginning of our relationship with an organisation, we only add value to a workplace, and support the lives of employees, if we can inspire people to sign-up to Unmind and engage with our offering.

The successful execution of this strategy will make a material impact on the lives of thousands of individuals around the globe and enable us to deliver on our mission to improve the mental wellbeing of ten million people in organisations around the world.

In this role, you’ll get to:

  • Create: We need to build a global Growth Marketing strategy which considers a diverse and ever-growing portfolio of organisations and people. Our strategy needs to ensure we can effectively cater to this diverse population, in a scalable way, whilst considering the entire life-cycle of a (potential) user – from awareness through sign-up to long-term engagement.
  • Deliver: Ultimately, the success of the Growth Marketing team is measured by the impact on user acquisition, engagement, and retention KPIs. This team will be at the forefront of helping us achieve our mission of improving the mental wellbeing of ten million people in organisations around the world.
  • Collaborate: Sitting at the intersection of Marketing, Client Success, and Product you’ll be responsible for evangelising the Growth Marketing function within the business, measuring success, and communicating progress. Building strong relationships across the business will be essential and will help shape an approach that is in line with wider objectives.
  • Lead: You’ll be leading a brilliant team – one product marketing manager and one growth marketing manager – who are already delivering impactful work to put the Unmind platform in the hands of thousands of people. Empowering them to thrive in their roles, and facilitating ongoing development is part of the journey.
  • Develop: Our goal of rebranding and repositioning mental health, whilst providing the tools to empower people to nurture their wellbeing, is going to require completely new ways of thinking and working. Supported by a wider societal shift in how we think about mental health, the Growth Marketing team are taking on a unique challenge with endless opportunities to grow and develop.
  • Inspire: At Unmind, we talk about ‘authentic uptake and engagement’ – we don’t want to impact metrics just for the sake of it. We care about driving behaviours which ultimately have the wellbeing of our users’ sitting at the heart of what we do.

Skills and Experience

We firmly believe that no-one is the finished article and that there should be learning in every role you do. So some of the role will be learning as you go, and we hope that’s exactly what you are looking for. However, experience in the following is important for the role.

We’re looking for people who:

  • Experience in a B2B2C or B2C technology/digital business, with a proven track record of leading on the attraction, engagement, and retention of users.*
  • First-hand experience of delivering a diverse range of marketing activities, and a deep understanding of how different marketing disciplines can come together to reach a desired outcome.
  • Direct experience of product marketing and working with Product to inform and influence decision-making which positively impacts the user.
  • An awareness and understanding of what tech stack might be required to meet our long-term growth aspirations.
  • Articulate and direct communicator, both verbal and written- with the confidence to challenge the status quo.
  • Previous experience of leading a team and putting in place the frameworks to support the growth and development of team members.
  • Passion for mental health, tech-for-good, and generally improving people’s lives.
  • Comfortable working in an environment of rapid growth, constant change, and lots of unknowns.
  • Hungry to make Unmind the global category leader of workplace mental health.

The Opportunity

At Unmind, we believe in uniting behind uniqueness. We believe our differences are what unites us as humans, and we seek out diverse opinions, beliefs, and experiences because they collectively make us stronger. We are committed to building an inclusive workplace and encourage everyone to bring their whole selves to work. However you identify, and whatever background you bring with you, we welcome you to apply for a role at Unmind.

You will be joining a strong, talented team of ~80 people who are deeply passionate about making a positive dent to the landscape of mental health worldwide. We have incredible investors, partners, clients, advocates, and ambitions… which is where you come in.

Our future success(es) will rely on the continuation of that momentum – of which our ability to find, attract, and retain exceptional people (whilst retaining our strong culture and values) will be paramount.
